    Client:
    London Metal Exchange
    Genre:
    Brand / Education Film
    Format:
    HD
    Director:
    Tom Jenkins
    Producer:
    Simon Sharp
    • The Brief

The London Metal Exchange needed a compelling new education / brand film which would give an up to date overview of the LME for members, investors and interested parties. The film needed to touch on the LMEs history, explain how the LME operates on a global scale and discuss the main services the LME provides; hedging, pricing and delivery.

    • The Solution

We created an 11 minute film that showcases the LME as a leader in its class. To highlight how modern, dynamic and global the LME is we filmed in London, South Korea, Rotterdam and Hamburg. By using cutting edge filming techniques and stand-out motion graphics we captured the essence of the LME as a forward facing and innovative exchange.

    • The Feedback

“The London Metal Exchange’s corporate video is a critical tool used for educating people throughout the supply chain on the role of the LME in international commodity markets. With a relentless focus on quality, creativity and detail, Tom and The Theory team took a tired, out-of-date product and helped us create something really special - a film that reflects our growing international user base and the modernisation of our brand. Great job!” Stephen White, Business Manager Corporate Affairs at London Metal Exchange

    • The Brief

Five by Five Digital needed a highly stylised 30 second TV commercial to attract visitors to a forthcoming food festival.

Although Five by Five had a limited budget they demanded a clever and humorous commercial that oozed style and flair with high production values.

    • The Solution

We worked very closely with Five by Five’s creative team to ensure their original campaign designs translated seamlessly to film.

We enlisted the highly renowned food cinematographer David Shilingford and our own talented director Neil Scholes who we could trust to deliver what we all wanted to achieve.

We shot on 35mm film and sourced the best and freshest produce, after all the ad is about food so the food is the star! Post house Smoke and Mirrors added the final touch in the picture grade so the food looks succulent, bringing the vibrant mouth watering colours of the food to life.

    • The Result

    Title:
    Walk
    Client:
    Environment Agency
    Director:
    Simon Sharp
    Producer:
    Tom Jenkins
    Format:
    Digi Beta
    • The Brief

The Worthing division of the Environment Agency wanted a recruitment film that was a refreshing contrast to the usual mundane solutions and that would stand out at exhibitions and recruitment fairs.

The EA were looking to appeal to a large age group and increase the number of job applicants from school leavers, parents and graduates to the semi retired. The client was keen to lose the stigma of being boring and show that their work was exciting and varied.

    • The Solution

To make the film stand out we filmed our characters against a green screen and chroma keyed them in to an animated environment. Being conscious of staying on brand the cartoon style backgrounds were designed to mimic the cartoon style graphics the Environment Agency used in their brochures.

    • The Result

An impressive solution to a very tricky brief. A film that broke the trend of interviewing employees in their offices and injected fun and personality in to a public sector recruitment drive that is usually deemed boring. Feedback has been fantastic and as a direct result attracted triple the usual number of applicants.

    • The Services

Pre-production - writing script and casting.

Production - two days in a green screen studio. Used special treadmill for the character to walk on. Shot on Digibeta.

Post–production – used animator to produce vector style animations to drop into the film at key places. Edited sequences together, keyed out background and added animation.
